The Ultimate Propagation Routine From Cutting to Pot

The Ultimate Propagation Routine From Cutting to Pot

Propagation is easier when you have a routine that supports each stage of growth. With the right method and products, your success rate will increase dramatically and your plants will grow stronger from the start.

Step 1: Take the Right Cutting

Use clean scissors or pruning shears to cut just below a node on a healthy stem. Look for at least two leaves and one node to ensure the cutting can sustain itself while roots form.

Step 2: Apply Rooting Gel with Care

Use a Q tip to apply a small amount of Clonex Rooting Gel to the cut end. The gel provides rooting hormones that stimulate root cell growth and seal the exposed tissue to prevent infection. Avoid dipping cuttings directly into the container to keep the gel sterile.

Step 3: Choose the Best Medium

Root your cuttings in Aroid Mix, which provides a balanced blend of aeration and moisture. The mix helps roots form evenly and prevents the waterlogging that can lead to rot.

Step 4: Feed Early Roots

Water the cutting with CCS Clonex Clone Solution every few days to support early root formation. Its gentle mineral formula provides calcium and boron that strengthen root cell walls and prevent wilting.

Step 5: Transplant and Strengthen

Once roots reach several centimeters in length, transplant into a larger container filled with Aroid Mix. After transplanting, water with Root Zone to reduce stress and encourage root branching.

Step 6: Maintain Growth

Once your plant starts growing new leaves, begin feeding with Foliage Focus. This ensures balanced nutrition for both leaves and roots and keeps your propagated plants vibrant year round.

By following this simple routine, every cutting can become a thriving new plant with healthy roots and strong growth.
