How to Transition Plants from Summer to Fall Indoors

Summer growth can be fast and wild. By fall, your plants are adjusting to shorter days and cooler nights. Without support, that shift can lead to stress, leaf drop, and slowed root function.

This checklist helps make the change smooth, not shocking.

1. Light changes first

Rotate your plants more often and bring them closer to natural light. South-facing windows become your new best friend. If your plant starts stretching, it is asking for more.

2. Ease off the feeding

Cut back to feeding every few weeks instead of every week. Foliage Focus is still perfect, but fall is more about maintenance than pushing new growth.

3. Support the roots gently

Supplement with Root Zone to help the plant stay grounded as it adapts to new light and temperature. Think of it as emotional support for roots.

4. Watch the humidity

Heaters can zap moisture from the air. Use a humidifier or pebble tray and keep your plants away from direct heat.

5. Let your plants rest

A little leaf yellowing is okay. Growth might slow. Do not panic. Your plant is doing exactly what it is supposed to.
