How to Repot Houseplants Without Causing Shock
Repotting gives plants a fresh start, but the process can feel intimidating. When done right, it encourages new growth and healthier roots. The key is creating a smooth transition that supports the plant as it adjusts to its new space.
Step 1: Choose the Right Soil
Our Plant Haven Aroid Mix provides the perfect texture for most tropical houseplants. Its blend of bark, perlite, and coco husk keeps soil light and airy while holding just enough moisture for roots to breathe easily.
Step 2: Handle Roots Gently
Remove the plant from its pot and loosen compacted roots carefully. Trim any black or mushy areas with clean scissors. This prevents rot and allows new roots to grow stronger.
Step 3: Repot with Care
Place a small layer of Aroid Mix at the bottom, set your plant in the center, and fill around the roots without pressing too hard. Leave a little space at the top so water can flow through evenly.
Step 4: Support Recovery
After repotting, water lightly with Root Zone to reduce stress and promote healing. You can also use Smooth Start Trio to support both root and foliage recovery during the adjustment period.
Repotting should feel calm and patient. With the right foundation and care, your plant will reward you with stronger growth and fresh energy.
